Best Kept Secret, today's visit
We went to Boundary Bay again today...
This beautiful creature is, I believe, a Lorquin's Admiral butterfly. Wasn't it nice of him to hold still for me like that?
We saw this guy sitting in the tree from a distance. We wondered at first if it was a raccoon, but then we saw the head and of course we knew! He let us get really close, although you can see he is keeping a really keen eye on us at all times!
When he looks right at you, you really know you're being looked at!
And then, he'd had enough of us, and moved on. I caught him JUST before he lifted off...the sound of their wings beating as they get airborne is something to hear!
And now I am ready for bed. Three hours walking in the sunshine and taking pictures makes Bunky a sleepyhead.
