so I woke up today a little after 5, a good time to shower and be on my way out the door to go to the GWAR show I had my ticket for. I get to the theater, camera bag in hand, 7 rolls of film in bag and I pass through the doors of the RoseLand Theater in Portland, security guys patting me down, like everyone else, and lets me go, but my bag I left on the security table has yet to be checked so I wait for it. Just before the guy grabs my bag I hear another member of security mention how only small digital cameras are allowed, that no "Pro" cameras are allowed, already knowing what this means I see the guy with my bag looking at my camera and showing it to the other guy, I already know they weren't gunna let it in. See, these people seem to think that anything with an interchangeable lens is "Pro", I hate that. The guys says I have to take it back to my car, I kinda laugh a bit and say I don't have one, that I came on the bus. I figure whatever, taking pictures is the reason I came out in the first place so I ask the guy if I can possibly get a refund on my ticket, but he said no. No worries, there was a guy looking to buy one just outside. Sold the ticket to a guy standing right outside and continued on my way. No GWAR for me tonight. I was fine with this, just a few blocks away there was another show going on, or going to go on. The Charms from Boston, a few local bands I think, a group from Seattle who seemed to have a big following, they were pretty cool, and headlining the show was The New York Dolls. In the end, I saw a very good show either way, and used all my film.
