once the coquina wall yeilds us to a higher view
we learn how harsher the falls seem to be from
such a distinct distance to the ground

at this wall we are invisible through clouds
and only the rough texture can cut our barefeet

the slightest excess rock freefalls through the sky
and shatters across the concrete surface below us

this wall may be dependable and durable in strength
but its width tests our balance and self-stability

you easily fall off this wall while I stay constant
a weak breeze pressured you deeply and as the story goes,
humpty dumpty could not be put back together again

so it goes to show; you must always be on your guard
