With the world becoming more cynical & pessimistic, I feel like all this negativity is bringing me down. And that's not really someone I am, nor want to become. (My sarcasm has an upbeat nature and I'd like to keep it that way.) I look at my son and he's so fresh and pure. It's so hard to keep him down; he's constantly smiling. And I know someday, I'll miss that innocence.
Starting from today, I'm declaring Caturday a new day - Simple Pleasures Saturday!
It's a personal reminder to myself that things aren't always as bad as they seem. That there are simple pleasures in life that would be missed if they weren't around anymore.
So! Here are my three simple pleasures for today:
1.) Soap bubbles - When I'm doing the dishes by hand, after I add the liquid soap to the sink, and put the dishwashing soap bottle down, I give it a slight squeeze and bubbles come out.
2.) Liquid tornados - If I'm making Kool-Aid (or Flavor-Aid) and I stir the pitcher with a spoon to create the whirlpool effect and the suddenly stop and hold the spoon in front of the flow. The sound of the liquid rushing to a stop is soothing.
3.) Jim Henson's Muppets exist.
