Oh wow. This chapter was actually a little bit heartbreaking. The interaction between Castiel and Dean was just...brilliant! (and I think one could really sense how different Castiel have become during his time on Earth/with Dean - ya know with the hopes, thoughts and fears)

I loved that Dean found that ancient text (hmmm perhaps due to some heavenly intervention?), and also the scene at the bar with him getting a last impression for what he will fight to the death for. Just wow!

I have to say this is one of the best chapters. It almost broke my heart..but in sorta good way.

Looking forward to the next chapter. :-)

Hi KaraQ! Thanks for reading and commenting. The chapter was a little heartbreaking? Oh dear. I don't think I mind that - I want my stories to really connect with the reader, but I know sometimes it can hurt. I'm glad you're seeing the changes in Castiel, and that you like the interactions between he and Dean. As for the ancient text - perhaps so. (o: And I liked that you picked up on Dean (and Cas) getting that glimpse of what it is they're saving.

Thanks again. I hope to update asap! I just have to do a bit of editing and then I'll be able to post the next chapter!

This made me all achey, but kind of sizzly (weird word?), too. Your Dean and Cas have such an interesting and compelling connection going on here. You capture them so well - Dean's sense of fatalism, Castiel's distant alieness (another weird word?). It just keeps getting better with more and more layers. Can't wait for more :).

Hi fingersofdawn! I think I like that the chapter made you achy and yet sizzly. Hee. (o: I like when mere words can enable people to feel things, you know? I'm so glad you're enjoying my Dean and Cas and their connection. (o: It's been quite a joy to write them, and I am eager to get the next installment up - hopefully this weekend! Thanks so much for reading and leaving me a note!

Hi Mia! Thanks so much for reading and leaving me a note! I'm so glad you're enjoying my Cas. (o: I've had such a great time writing him. He intrigues me so much! I'm pleased you've noticed all the little details about him - like about the developing emotions, and yes of course, at a slow pace. I know many people are excited to get to the place where emotions/passion/intensity happens, but I particularly enjoy the journey there, and sometimes it's a long and agonizing road, getting there. But not too long. (o: I don't like to drag it on without reason...

So glad you liked the love scene previous. (o: And as for their plan - it's the best they've got. Perfect? No. Flawless? No. But if anyone can pull it off, maybe our boys can. *crosses fingers*

Thanks again, and I hope to update with the next chapter this weekend!

A lot of introspection in this chapter, as the hour draws near. Will they survive? Do they have a chance, even with the Lucifer-banishing incantation that Dean found? And how do they feel about that? I think Cas hit the nail on the head with this thought: He is not sure if the pain is more tolerable with a lack of hope or a loss of hope.

Laura.

Hi Laura! Indeed, I guess it's now or never for the introspection. As for their survival - you'll find out in the next chapter (which is already posted, by the way!) (o: And I'm glad you liked Castiel's comment about lack or loss of hope. I think it's a big question for him... Anyway, thanks for reading and commenting!
