Ok. I officially believe in miracles.
My aunt had a massive heart attack almost two weeks ago. They rushed her to the hospital. They only gave her 24 hours to live. They had her unconscious, on a ventilator. She had to be airlifted to Charleston.
Well, almost two weeks later, she's home.
She survived the first 24 hours they gave her. She survived the next. They sent her from Chester to Columbia. They put her on blood thinner. They put her through this procedure she could have died in, where they put a balloon on her heart. They airlifted her to Charleston to await a heart transplant, only to realize she can't receive a heart because she's diabetic.
I don't know exactly how it happened. But they took her off the ventilator. They brought her back to semi-consciousness, and she was alright. They kept her in the hospital for a few more days and then they sent her home yesterday. She's home.
It's not over, though. She has to go on a major diet. There's always the possibility of another heart attack. It'll still be weeks before everything gets close to being normal again. But she's survived two weeks when the doctors didn't give her two days.
Miracles do happen.
