True facts, my friend. I wish I could write it, but I get so embarrassed just writing vanilla sex.

Same commenter here.

Couldn't because you're a man and will be judged, or couldn't because it's an experience you'll never have? Either way it strikes me that it's the sort of thing a good, trusted beta could help take care of.

I should probably take my own advice!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a bisexual female and I have many of the same concerns (not the wang-having, but getting so caught up in the ideological circles that just telling the story begins to seem like the equivalent of walking off a cliff into the unknown). I've spoken to straight female fanauthor friends who also have confided that even though they want to write explicit femslash, they feel really concerned that they'd unconsciously do it in some way that would wind up being offensive. So they don't do it.

As soon as there's even the tiniest bit of porn in femslash beyond very elliptical implication, the number of comments it gets drops to negligible. Kinky porn, you may as well forget about it entirely. Strangely enough, this does dampen my enthusiasm for writing same.

I only really bother nowadays when a kink meme prompt particularly grabs me, but then I have the opposite problem and it starts turning into a proper story around the porn. (I just checked; I have six on my hard drive that have stalled on that problem. I will try and finish some of them for you, OP. But no promises, I have Yuletide to sort out first.)

Embarrassed, maybe? Plus the kinkier it gets, the smaller the audience anyway?

I've only written porny femslash once, but I got a fair amount of comments (about what I normally get, maybe a wee bit less). Maybe it's because it's not normally what I write, so I was subverting expectations and the piece was therefore more interesting than it would normally be? I don't know.

Actually, to be fair, I get about the same amount of comments on LJ most of the time for porny femslash as I do for anything that isn't about a Major Pairing. But on Teaspoon there's virtually no reviews at all, and yet, weirdly, roughly the same level of favouriting as my other fics get. I find it a bit creepy tbh.

Write some, then. You're not entitled to it.

I know troll is your native language, but anon wishing there was kinkier porn isn't entitlement. It's a wish.

One person can't hold up a genre.
