Susan, his Susan, Gallifreyan mind, but human heart, smiling and dancing through her days.
Crying for him, as the flames took her.
Ace, who he nearly killed to cure.
Her life extinguished by the exterminators.
Romana, the student who surpassed the teacher.
Blond hair charred, face always a broken clock.
Leela, the noble savage. Brown skin scorched, unrecognisable.
Innocet, the kindest person he'd ever known, incinerated with the House.
Koschei, his best friend, his worst enemy, vanquished at last.
Gallifrey. Blood red grass ablaze, the mountains' ice turned to steam.
Some nights he begs to burn with them.
