Some of you who are on loves_them_all might have noticed the companion love posting month that's going on there. We're a week in and have had outpourings of love for Romana I, Turlough, Steven, Charley, Rose and Martha, with 24 more companions to go, and since I'm really pleased with how it's going so far I thought I'd float the idea of doing the rare ships ( Read more... )

Having missed out on the loves_them_all month, I'd be claiming Doctor/Romana like that. Unless you want us to be specific with incarnations, in which case I'd take Ten/Romana.

To answer my own question, I'd be torn between Five/Nyssa, Eight/Fitz, Three/Jo, Sarah/Rose, Mickey/Jake, Rose/Mickey/Jake, Sally Sparrow/Billy Shipton, Clyde/Luke (using my modly privileges to point out that SJA pairings are a-okay), Ten/Donna, and many others that will no doubt occur to me the moment I submit this comment. (I'm most likely to do Rose/Mickey/Jake, as there's at least some chance someone else will do all the rest).

Why are SJA pairings okay but not Torchwood? Just curious more than anything though. I mean, if you allow one spinoff, why not the other?

Because there are massive, active Torchwood comms, individual comms for every conceivable ship and about ten thousand new fics every day; there's one SJA comm (two if you count the general Sarah comm) and maybe two new fics total a week - and there's vastly more shipping going on in Torchwood. You could conceivably fill a whole month with Torchwood pairings that already get meta'd or ficced all the time, while on SJA there's maybe Clyde/Luke and Sarah/Alan, and nobody's claimed either anyway.

I have Tegan for the loves_them_allcompanion fest, so naturally I think a 'ship version is a fab idea. I would be interested. I'd either ask for Five/Tegan or Seven/Ace (depending on which one I could in before anyone else)

I would totally be interested. I'd be most interested in doing Two/Jamie or Romana/Leela or Ten/Donna or Clyde/Luke, but I'm totally flexible as to which I'd pimp given the chance to.

Excellent! Because I think I'd have to insist that someone does Barbara/Ian, certainly, as it'd just be wrong to leave them out *g*
