Greetings, my Evil Ones

Feb 16, 2008 23:47

Welcome to the Good vs. Evil Knitalong. The rumors you've heard are indeed true: They've resurrected me to help fight in this Knit War. Putting my personal feelings aside regarding cooperation in the general sense, and being the equivalent of a neutered dog on a leash in the quite specific sense, let's just say I've been given... sufficient motivation to produce a winning team.

To this end, I am here to offer you some words of advice.

1. Do well, or perish.

2. Submit your progress often. If you do not, I will assume that you are shirking your duties as an evil minion. This may have dire consequences, especially if it is not immediately tempered with appropriate amounts of groveling.

I do so love a good grovel.

3. Cheating is tolerated and will go unpunished, so long as it directly benefits my side AND is undertaken with the proper amount of discretion.

4. We seem to have a dearth of evil patterns, so I've gathered what I could find. If there are any other ideas please submit them as comments to this post.

4b. To clear up any confusion straightaway, all Terrifying!Pertwee patterns, although technically depicting some drug-induced form of the Doctor, clearly belong on the Evil side. Also, I think we can safely claim all Rassilon-related material is at least moderately evil by default.

5. Anyone making the beardcap or devising and/or finding a pattern for it and posting it to this community will be sent a special gift. The cake is not a lie.

6. Friendly competition is encouraged. Might as well put them off their guard for as long as possible. They think it's a game. We know better.

7. Don't "have fun." Fun is not what we're about, my faithful companions. Go forth and DESTROY the other team.

Many thanks to those who have contributed solutions for this pressing problem.

Suggestions:

Laser Screwdriver. There is already a Sonic Screwdriver pattern courtesy
of rjdaae. Couldn't hurt to employ a few ingenious modifications!

A Master Scarf. Doesn't he deserve one? Hmmm?

Gloves. One could always use a good pair.

Something Cyberman and/or Dalek Patterned (leave that clunky old relic near the top out of it, mind)

Ski mask that looks like a Cyberman head, a superior idea contributed by knives42ljk

Plushie Toclafane. Sweet!

Laser Screwdriver Cozy. To protect your little baby.

maypanic is working on a dalek hat: "Basic grey ski hat, with black stripes at the brim, and a little knit plunger and egg wisk sticking out the top."

Cybermat Slippers

That's all the ideas I have for now, I'm afraid. Good luck on your first day. Of course, if you were truly evil, you would have started long before this point. But for all intents and purposes... let the knitting and crocheting commence!
