I was one of the commitment-phobic folks watching this community, but it looks like a lovely place. Hello! I'm rather new to Doctor Who, spent last winter educating myself with some of the classic episodes, and got obsessed with Tom Baker's scarf the instant I saw it in City of Death. It was just so fabulously ridiculous. I heart it. I just ( Read more... )

The teddybear scarf is a fantastic idea - will probably be trying it out at some stage. Thanks for the instructions! :D

Thank you! I tried taking it off when summer arrived, but the teddy bear just looked naked, so I guess her scarf is permanent!

Both scarves are beautiful! I'll have to try a teddy bear one, it'd be a great follow-up project with any yarn left over from the big one.
Great job on both. ^^

It is a puzzle, what to do with the bits of unusually-colored yarn leftover. I'm glad you can use the pattern.

Wow, I feel special. :)

In my opinion, a few more geeked-out teddy bears will make the world a better place. I'm glad the pattern will be useful!

And a big thank you for starting and maintaining this community. It's so well organized and friendly.

Thank you for sharing this! I collect dolls and I'd love to make a Doctor Who scarf for them, but I'm a fairly novice knitter and fail at calculating things. I don't know how long this is, but it should be easy enough to continue the pattern. I'd want the right length for my dolls, and they're around 22" tall, so I suspect I'll have to repeat a few times.

It'll have to wait until I finish my current projects, though, because I'm not buying all that yarn just for a doll scarf, I'll make one for myself as well.

So thank you for sharing, again!

You're very welcome! I think you're right, you might need to repeat more of the pattern, but the nice thing is you can guage as you go and repeat as much as necessary. I have found that through time and use, my bear's scarf has stretched quite a bit. But if your dolls are mainly for looking at, their scarves probably wouldn't change much.

I'm not buying all that yarn just for a doll scarf, I'll make one for myself as well.

Goodness, no. I actually have yarn left over from my last scarf, too, so I'm thinking I might need to do another miniature one. :)
