A little help with knitting...

Well, I'm almost done with my scarf! Hopefully just in time for Halloween. (I'm going to be the 4th doctor.)

But I have a problem...
My grandma told me when I change colors to start inter-grading the new color at the last four stitches at the end of the color changing row. Thus I have this ugly stuff showing:

I realized this is not what you normally see on scarfs, so I'm wondering how (if I even can) fix it. I tried to fix it when I weaved in the ends, but...

It doesn't look nice. There's so many things wrong with this scarf. :( Maybe someday I'll do another, better, one.

Also, I'm debating whether or not to leave the tassels of of the scarf. This was my moms suggestion because it's really long on me, and I'm going to use it as a normal scarf. Do any of you think that's a good idea? I considered leaving off a few rows but I still want this scarf to be close to the original. So I'm torn.

scarf, question
