Well, Pattern A won my poll by a landslide. So... I'm doing Pattern B! Yay? What I discovered through the voting and discussion is that what I really *wanted* was not another classic-looking Fourth Doctor scarf, but just a scarf in the Fourth Doctor colors and bars. The more the tally favored Pattern A, the more I wanted Pattern B. I'm like an evil dictator, offering the people a choice just so I can take it away. Mwa ha ha ha ha.
But I can't manage full-on evil because I've found a compromise. I've decided that for my *next* Fourth Doctor project (because who am I kidding, the next time there's a knitalong I will be back in the yarn store, ritualistically fondling the Seven Colors of the Scarf) I'm going to make a shawl in Pattern A.
So this time, I'm following the Season 12 scarf pattern by colors and number of rows, but I'm doing a 3x3 rib, 45 stitches wide. Thank you for your help, everybody! You really did help, even though I'm blatantly disregarding the will of the people. :)
I'm going pretty slowly, it seems. Most of my progress here is due to a lecture I attended, where, incidentally, a fellow knitter found me and laughed when she learned of the existence of online knitalongs, as if that were very quaint and odd.
