"I'm really sorry, but you can't wear something that short," Kyle told the girl, not really liking to confront people, but doing it since it was his job. Kyle wouldn't back down from following the rules.

"If you'd just elongate the skirt, or change it, that'd be great." He waited patiently for the girl to follow instructions.

By habit, Zoey didn't break the dress code all that often. In fact, she didn't wear skirts all that much when she wasn't in uniform.

But it was Saturday and she was planning on doing some dancing. She could move better in skirts than jeans and most of her skirts just happened to be short.

"No." She rolled her eyes and turned back the way she was going. Just because she'd been overly bitchy lately, Zoey lifted her skirt just a bit more under auspices that she had to in order to make it up the stairs comfortably.

"Excuse me?" Kyle spat under his breath, not in the mood. At all.

Kyle pointed his wand at her skirt, elongating it past her knees.

Usually, he and Zoey got along, but he wasn't going to be caught by the headmistress for letting the girl get away with this.

"I said No." She responded slowly.

Zoey gave an exasperated sigh and used her own wand to shorten it back to how she liked it. "I could do this all day, sugar."

She didn't have anything against Kyle personally, but she was going through a bit of a defiant (more so than usual phase) and hated every rule the Headmistress tried to enforce through the prefects. Plus, she knew for a fact the Head Boy would probably let her get away with wearing anything she wanted.

Probably not for the first time, Kyle wished he had back up or something. "Do we really have to do this, Zoey?"

He elongated it without saying a word. Kyle was getting rather good at silent charms. [He got a lot of practice on duty.]

"Oh, come on," she batted her eyelashes a bit. "Don't tell me you don't like it."

Kyle looked at her, nearly disgusted. "Below your knees, please."

She had a boyfriend, for Merlin's sake!

Padma didn't think that she had ever had that type of reaction before...

"No," she told him quite simply - her attitude changed from sweet to irritated as she crossed her arms and glared at him.

"Excuse me?" he asked quietly, not expecting her attitude to change that quickly.

"Please, make your skirt go below your knees, or it'll be house points... Our house points."
