Interesting Tidbits

I just learned two interesting things from my english course:

1) This is actually slightly gruesome, but still very cool. At least I thought so. Apparently, in Ancient Greece there was a thief by the name of Procrustes who would tie his victims to a bed and then stretch or cut off the legs to match the size of the bed. Wicked. Okay, so maybe it is not so cool for the victims.

2) The words flammable and inflammable actually mean the same thing. They are synonyms that mean able to catch on fire. I suppose that would make nonflammable the antonym. I never knew that and felt I should share it with the world.

While I have your attention. Something to know about me. I hate it when people use "internet slang" such as u, ur, 4, sup, and so on. I also hate it when people ::indirect reference to Kristen:: refuse to use any punctuation (periods, commas) while typing on-line. No, it is not the evolution of a new english language. It is the degradation of it.
