Just over two weeks to go until Matt "the boy" Smith takes his final ungainly, somewhat slapstick-ish bow and Peter "swearin' mad" Capaldi comes out clutching his lapels and calling people "child" (or so I like to think, anyway). The reality is sinking in now; I'm going to miss Eleven when he's gone, but a big part of being a longterm Who fan is picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and giving the new chap a chance (see An Adventure in Space and Time's deep meditations on the nature of Who fandom, albeit cunningly disguised as a factual drama about 1960s TV folk for the benefit of laypeople).
Still, the exciting times continue, eh?
Well, we know now that the imminent Xmas Special is entitled The Time of the Doctor, and here are
some RATHER SPOILERY pictures of said special that have been revealed in the past day or so!
"Christmas Town"? Wooden Cybermen?! Metal Cybermen with their heads pulled off??! Daleks??!! The Doctor dressed as Harry Potter???!! Victims of freak eyeliner accidents and the Gay Anglican Marine Corps???!!! Turkey????!!!
Well, I'm ready for it, anyway. Bring it on.
It's on at 7.30pm on Christmas Day here in the UK. According to Wikipedia, which is always right about everything, it's also going out on 25 December in the United States on BBC America and in Canada on Space. In Australia it will air 26 December on ABC1.
