50th Anniversary Fanwork-a-thon-a-thon, Bonus Round: Whatever You Want It To Be

Nov 28, 2013 21:12

So, that was the 50th Anniversary that was, huh? I'm still slowly coming down from the excitement of last Saturday night, with the knowledge however that the Xmas special is bearing down upon us at a rate of knots. I've been thinking, though ( Read more... )

First of all, big and heartfelt thanks to all of you who've been members of the comm, making posts, commenting, producing lovely fanworks, or just lurking around the place; you've all been great

I think, though, the person who most needs thanks here is you for coming up with this, starting it up and following through on what, low-level as it is, gets to be a huge lot of work through the year. There's no guarantee anyone else would have done it and it's been great.

*awards you a medal*

*returns salute*

Well, thank you very much indeed. And thanks to you too, for taking part here when you were able and also for your support and suggestions in the early days of this...thing. I wouldn't have thought of mirroring the comm on Dreamwidth (or even linking to the Dreamwidth version from here and vice versa) or all kinds of other sensible considerations if you hadn't been there offering your ideas. I think you even had a hand in the format and ordering of the monthly fanwork-a-thons - so here, have a medal back:

*pins it on*

You're right, though - it doesn't look like being as much work as it ended up being until you actually have a go. If and when it continues into next year, I think the pace is going to be a bit more leisurely to allow me more time to do other things. :)

Just to be fair, I think I suggested switching the order first, and was then backed up by lost_spook (but I think she was more persuasive). ;) But other than that I didn't do much, so most of the credit goes to lost_spook. :)

We can both share credit for being awkward so-and-so's or something? (I have no idea - I think my suggestion was for it to be random, which isn't what happened. *hands the medal back in meekly*)

;-D

Anyway, as I said - I think thanks to JJ for running the comm and making celebratory things happen on LJ is definitely deserved - and I'm pretty sure we're unanimous on that.

Well, it was the only useful/helpful thing I did, so your medal is more than deserved. *hands back again* I can have a cheap plastic replica or something. ;)

And of course we are!

Medals all round! ;D Even if they are different medals to the ones we were all wearing when we came in...

Seriously, though, I scarcely remember what I did yesterday at the best of times, so I may be recalling who said and suggested what incorrectly a year on. Nevertheless, you were both extremely helpful and supportive right from the beginning, as I have come to expect by now. Thanks again to both of you. :)

I don't think I was extremely helpful, but I hopefully wasn't completely without use either. :)

(now where's a gif of the medal-scene from Shada when you need it?)

You could just find me a rusty tin medal or from the
from the rubbish dump or something. ;)
