Valentine's Day 2006:
It began just like any other Tuesday, but did not stay ordinary for long. At 8:30, the phone rang. I had a package downstairs. A bag of homemade goodies (sweet popcorn w/cranberries, chocolate chips, and strawberry kisses) with a yellow rose and a name tag with my full name on it awaited me. No identification of the giver has been received. All my suspicions have run amuck as everyone I have asked as either received one or at least is friends with someone who has not received a similar gift (therefore eliminating them as the giver). While the girls who did receive bags are all in Navigators, not all the girls in Navigators received bags, and none of us are in a particular group or team together....hmmm.....apparently this person does not want to be found out, and so their identity may forever remain a mystery....
While walking out this morning, I also realized that because of the cold, I dressed myself in blue and green, since I desperately wanted to sport my lime green beanie.....so I did look festive....just for the wrong holiday.....oh well, I guess I just need to wear some pink on St. Pattie's to make up for it.
Oh, and for all you singletons out there, remember the love given through friendship and the vast difference it makes in one's life.....love is after all, primarily an action, and requires practice and perseverance to achieve results....
hope you had a great "love appreciation" day.
