break was short. too short to be called a "break" even. i hardly feel like i was even home. didn't get much accomplished like i expected, mainly b/c i got a cold friday and ended up being driven around instead of driving myself- but alas, only a few more weeks and i'll all the time (and hopefully the health) to do everything i haven't done in awhile- including meeting up w/my south florida friends...
woke up at 6 yesterday and arrived at the airport around 7 (my flight left at 7:50), only to find the security line wrapped all the way to the front....moved up and around the corner to find a maze still ahead....watch as they call ppl on boston and hartford flights to cut ahead.....still in line at 7:40....finally make it to security when guard allows more ppl to cut...find out that their flight leaves at 8:10....sooo, realizing that my flight leaves a little sooner and wondering why they didn't call ppl out for tampa, i asked the guard to let me through, and he says:
"Where were you when we called '7:50?' we called ages ago, you need to pay attention. sorry, you'll just have to wait."
i start flippin out and call my mom to let her know that i will be missing my flight, and as i'm explaining to her how they've roped me off and that there is no way i can go on ahead- the guard suddenly takes an interest in getting me through security....
moral of the story: crying to your mom does have its rewards...
