10 Cream Fluff
8 Rainbow Syrup
14 Cotton Cloudcandy
I decided to use marshmallow creme for the Cream Fluff, which proved to be the right choice. (Also, cotton candy is apparently another rare and exotic item, as I had to hunt for it all over town before finally finding it at Dollar General.) It tasted good, but it's also REALLY sugary. I couldn't eat more than a little bit at a time. Also, be especially careful while the milk mixture cooks; the marshmallow creme makes it difficult to tell when the milk mixture is just under a boil and increases the risk of boiling over.
Ingredients for cotton candy and marshmallow ice cream:
1-1/2 c whole milk
1 c heavy cream
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
4 eggs
1/2 c sugar
2 oz cotton candy
7 oz marshmallow creme
In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy and light in color. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients except cotton candy in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is brought to just under a boil. While stirring, stir in cotton candy one chunk at a time until completely dissolved. Immediately remove from heat. Combine the egg mixture with the milk mixture. Stir well. Quickly pour the mixture into a 9X5 3-inch pan. Let stand undisturbed for 10 minutes. Place pan in freezer and freeze until firm. Break the frozen mixture into chunks. In a bowl, beat until smooth. Return mixture to pan and freeze until firm. Makes 1 quart.
On cotton candy stick, place three scoops of ice cream. Paint with multiple colors of food coloring.
