so, well...
i'm home now for thanksgiving break after experiencing the woes of some quite serious final-ish papers and an extra long, extra annoying plane ride. right now i'm watching the history channel at the edge of my seat and drinking espresso while sucking on a hershey kiss. last night i had the most adorable dinner with my mom, sister, and dad during which we went through 3 different forms of alcohol--one of which was a bottle of korbel that was so old that it had turned orange and another of which was benedictine liqueur. my dad just kept saying over and over again how much of an occasion for celebration my homecoming was. then he tried to play me all of his records of Debussy.
this morning i read steven's new play without any breaks and consistently wanted to cry at its brilliance. today i have appointments and non-fun errands to do, but am mostly just kind of reveling in idleness. i know i'll soon get very bored and ready to go back, but for now the return of the history channel into my life is proving just enough. if only my house had even a little bit of sweet in low in it so that i could have a cup of good old, slightly horrible freeze-dried coffee.
last friday me, stev, ali, john, jon, jen , jed, and briel went downtown for stev, briel and jed's friend jesse's birthday. live music, drinks on jesse and an available dance floor were ideal. finally a night where all of us were willing to put away with our work and dance to bad music.
