Here's what I posted on CR:
I'm no good at reports, was the best day ever for this race, wasn't too cold amazingly. Was a bit dissapointed with my 66.54 - 49seconds short of a PB, but just wasn't up to it, drank too much water which made me a bit sick. Mate of mine on debut did sub-60, way to go Jake, Matt Robbie won the event, and Matt Rando (18 year old) came 2nd, very happy for Rando as he was in the year below me at high school. Mate of mine, Jud, came 7th. From what he was telling me Robbie ran out from about 2km and took it away, seems getting yourself in the paper is a good way to win the race tongue.gif (I'll have to try it next year). Was a slight course change with the big hill now being almost completely cut out, following the pathway rather than the road.
I'd give the splits here but my watch battery died yesterday so I can't :(
The other thing to come of this race is a next race, I'll run the Lake Macquarie Half, 27th August, a few logistical things to work out, Cockle Creek is the nearest station but it's at the opposite end of the course may have to see if a CR can give me a lift from here or the station.
Ran 6km today as I start my prep for the half. I ran it in 33.54 which I felt was pretty good given I'm still recovering from Sunday.
Still coming to terms with the result against Brazil, I should be happy with the fact that we put up a good fight against Brazil, but I thought both goals were pretty soft, Popovic got injured, which opens the door for Beauchamp, hope he gets a run.
