Suspicious, but not looking a gift horse in the mouth
So, it's a chore to try to get a day off at work. I've been denied today off (my wife's birthday) several times this year.
This afternoon, about an hour before I usually get up, my boss calls me and lets me know that she's going to go ahead and approve my personal day today.
I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, as I've got no approval paperwork myself and just a phone call...but...the good news is our paychecks come out today, too, so I can go see what the situation is as I go get that.
