It was only Pooka this time, but the problem was that doors creaked just the same for dogs as they did for people. Anya took a deep breath and stood, smoothing her skirt. "This was your idea," she said.
Dimitri didn't even look abashed. He wasn't quite smirking - it would take another centimeter for that.
"I wanted to elope," she continued.
"I know."
"Eloping was a good idea."
"I can agree to that."
"You could have agreed to it three months ago when it would've done us some good."
