I had originally planned to go camping with Willa this weekend, but a car accident on the way changed all that. I was driving on the interstate and the cars ahead of me started to slow...fast. I got on my brakes, and got right up on the bumper of the guy in front of me, but I wasn't going to hit him. I was getting ready to breath a sigh of relief when I heard tires squealing, looked in my rearview mirror, and saw a bigassed Dodge Ram barrelling at me. I get rear ended hard, and then thrown into the vehicle in front of me. I ended up coming to a rest maybe 20 feet from a state trooper; I think people were slowing down because they saw him and got bunched up. My Jeep got sandwiched between the two trucks and subsequently squished a bit. It was a piece of crap, so I'm not too broken up about it, but now I have to deal with the huge hassle surrounding the accident (checking up on insurance, getting my neck checked out, etc). The officer handling it was kind of young, and thus pretty new, so I don't think he handled it as best as he could have; he told us to not exchange insurance info and names since it would be on the report. Also, I initially told him I wasn't injured, since he asked me seconds after I got out of my jeep, because at that time I wasn't feeling any pain. Later my knee started to bother me, so I old him and he acted like I was lying to him, so I had to show him the bloody spot and explain that sometimes adrenaline works in mysterious ways. I'm going to get a copy of the report on Monday, and hopefully get a car within the end of the week. Luckily my parents are loaning me their van for the time being. Nobody was seriously injured in the crash, thankfully.
