This comes from some very reliable sources, and is NOT just a flimsy rumour. But bear in mind that until the big announcement is made, nothing is confirmed yet.
Well, since Freddy vs Jason 2 has gone the way of Freddy vs Jason 1 (development hell), it seems to be on a temporary hiatus.
It has become quite obvious that New Line do care about their franchises these days. The proof being that they haven't just reeled off FvJ 2 right off the bat like you would have normally expected. They are seemingly holding out for the perfect script. Maybe they've learned from the mistake that was Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2. So with all the Ash rumours, the Michael Myers rumours, and the utter lack of real news on this thing, it seems that FvJ 2 isn't exactly imminent.
But New Line Cinema are now apparently working on something even bigger.
A new Friday the 13th movie.
No Freddy? Yeah, that sucks.
Well how about a Friday the 13th movie DIRECTED BY QUENTIN TARANTINO??
