Dear Yuletide Writer,
Thank you for writing for me. This is my first year doing this, though I have seen the letters floating around in years past so bare with me, please.
I'd hate to feel like I've pressured you to write something you don't feel you can write, so while I'll list all the things I like and dislike, please don't feel intimidated by any of it. If you are a gen writer just ignore anything about kinks/smut. I wouldn't expect you to write sex if that isn't your thing. :)
I have things that don't matter to me that seem to matter to the rest of fandom. Things like who's on top or bottom in smut. I really, seriously, could care less. Tropes aren't a big deal to me. I'll probably not even realize it is a trope unless it is pointed out to me. I adore slash threesomes (as you can tell from what I've written). Any one of the ideas I've given will make me a happy camper.
I've seen all the episodes of all these shows and for Pretender I've seen the movies as well.
I have chosen the following fandoms:
Covert Affairs (Auggie Anderson, Annie Walker, Jai Wilcox, Ben Mercer)
Flashpoint (Sam Braddock, Mike "Spike" Scarlatti, Ed Lane, Greg Parker)
NCIS: Los Angeles (Marty Deeks, G Callen, Kensi Blye, Hetty Lange)
The Pretender (Jarod, The Clone, Major Charles, Sydney)
Things I like:
Slash, threesomes, happy or hopeful endings, kid fic (either their kids or them as kids), angst, hurt/comfort, realistic recovery, kinky smut (kinks include: fisting, sounding, double penetration, breath play, organism denial, CBT, and bondage), Sleepy or drugged sex(no non-con or dub-con), BDSM, PTSD reactions where the affected person is helped, crossovers, AUs, abusive back-stories, male prostitution, rape recovery where the recovery is realistic, temporary disabilities like flash blindness, porn with plot, and kidnappings.
Things I don't like:
Permanent death of characters (temporary deaths were the character comes back is fine), magic recoveries, non-con where the person is drugged or asleep/sleepy; kinks: descriptive enemas, scat, watersports, and waxplay.
Covert Affairs:
Auggie Anderson is my favorite character. I'd cross him into just about any fandom (seriously, I kid you not. If someone wrote me a conversation between Auggie and Sam Braddock from Flashpoint I'd expire from glee.) I swear to you that it might be billed as a show about Annie, but it is totally about Auggie. Totally. ;)
Ideas-
While in the field Auggie is dosed with something that makes his vocal cords not work so he can't talk. He's fine otherwise, but with being blind and rendered mute I'd like to see how he handles it. How Annie trips over herself trying to help.
Auggie and Annie get trapped somewhere (captured, hiding so they don't get captured, whatever). They trade stories and Auggie tells Annie about his childhood, about his tattoo, and/or how he lost his sight.
Auggie gets amnesia and thinks he's in Afghanistan. He doesn't grasp why he's blind and thinks Annie is an embedded reporter he is supposed to be rescuing. He knocks Jai out thinking he's the enemy. Annie is left trying to talk Auggie down until he passes out and she can get him medical attention.
Auggie/Ben/Jai smut with Auggie in the middle.
Flashpoint:
Sam Braddock is my favorite character. I like him for his angsty past and for being horrible at negotiating. I feel for him every time he's blindsided by something. Jules and Spike are my next favorite, but I like them all. I liked Lou too.
Ideas-
Sam is held hostage and while the team is trying to get him out alive he's trying to survive until they do. He has no way to contact his team and his captor is hostile and scary. Sam has to draw on his military training and his faith that his team will come for him (which he's not quite sure of) to keep from getting killed.
Sam suffers from mild PTSD. He has nightmares of shooting his current team. Then during a bank robbery gone wrong Sam's faced with having to shot through Ed to hit the bad guy or possibly losing Ed once they've gotten away. Sam does it and promptly freaks out. Ed will recover, but what about Sam?
Sam gets kidnapped, beat up, and his captor straps a bomb to him. When his team finally extracts him Spike is freaked out at having to try to defuse the bomb when it is a teammate and Sam is hurting from the beating he took and is snappish.
Sam/Greg/Ed smut with Ed unsure of why he's doing this and Sam wanting to only bottom.
NCIS: Los Angles:
Marty Deeks is my favorite followed very closely by Callen and Hetty. I like Sam and Kensi as well. I never got attached to Dom as I thought he was doomed from the first scene I saw him in.
Ideas-
Deeks is undercover for the LAPD and something blows his cover. The bad guys are pissed and torture him for several days before taking him somewhere to dump him to die. Deeks manages to steal one of the bad guys' phones during the dump and calls Kensi, but passes out before he can really tell them where he is. The team finally finds him and Deeks begins to recover.
To break a slavery ring the team has to met with the bad guys, the catch is that they expect everyone at the met to have a personal slave. Callen goes in with Deeks as his slave. The met goes down and they get the bad guys. Afterwards someone (not Callen) makes a remark that they hadn't expected Deeks to be able to obey that well. Deeks goes still and excuses himself. Kensi goes after him and Deeks eventually tells her some past experience where he didn't have a choice about obeying.
Callen doesn't remember a lot of his childhood, but Deeks remembers way more of his than he wants to. Kensi asks Sam what to do with all the little hints that Deeks keeps dropping and Sam tells her he's not sure other than to listen to what Deeks has to say. Kensi asks Hetty over tea and Hetty asks why is Deeks telling her. Kensi doesn't know and tries to figure it out using Callen as a sounding board.
Deeks/Sam/Callen smut with Callen as the man in the middle.
The Pretender:
Jarod is my favorite. Followed closely by his clone and Kyle. I wouldn't mind if you cross the Profiler into it in passing since they were the same 'verse and all.
Ideas-
Jarod's clone didn't have a good time of it before Jarod rescued him. He's used to Sweepers taking out their boredom on him, Mr. Raines being scary mean, and used to everything being horrible. How does he adjust to Jarod's kindness? How does Jarod handle his clone? (Let's say he stays with Jarod and doesn't go with Major Charles.)
Jarod has Pretended to be all sorts of things, but he's never had to just be himself. He's not even sure how to. He's suddenly faced with being himself for Major Charles and the clone. Kyle too, if you want to AU it enough that Kyle lives.
Mr. Lyle captures Jarod and decides to take out his frustrations on Jarod before giving him back to the Centre. (Anything short of mutilation is fine. Rape, torture, Lyle giving Jarod to Sweepers to play with, or all of the above). Jarod is rescued by Sydney and Broots (Miss Parker can be involved, but I see her was kicking Lyle's ass as opposed to sticking with a hurt Jarod). How does Jarod recover when he's dealing with more people employed by the Centre? Does Sydney give Jarod to Major Charles?
If you read through this and think you need more info or want to ask me quetions go through either
nightshadow_t2 or
heeroluva because they ask me random things all the time and won't tell me it is for you. ;)
Thank you for being crazy enough to sign up for this. I hope you find something you can write amongst these. If not, really, seriously, just ask either of my friends to ask me for new plot bunnies. I can always come up with more plots.
Sincerely,
Whiteraven.
