My sympathy's dear. Funerals do suck and someone always tries to feed you those nasty lemon square things.
Chin up, hope you're back soon.

Thank you. Yes, yes, they do. Actually no lemon squares, just lots and lots of Jello and I hate that stuff with a passion. :P

last funeral I had to go to it was caned asparagus wrapped in white bread with margarine. I have no idea why. I think a whole study could be done on funeral food.

Okay, that's just nasty. Oh, I wrote a paper once in college on funeral rituals and the whys and whatfors. My teacher wanted to flunk me because I pretty much said that the dead person usually would love to come back just to smack his realitives for the crap they put themselves through for the funeral services. :) His boss wanted my to expand my paper by another fifteen pages. People are just weird.

Yes they are. Last funeral I went to was for a guy I actually never met. He was the father of a friends boyfriend. people kept asking me how I knew the guy and I had to say 'well actually...'
I then ended up at the wake and the designated semi sober person making sure no one drowned in the pool or did anything too dangerous or stupid.

Wow, that'd just drive me up the wall.
Actually when I was in the Army I charged people for 'drunk herding.' I'd be sober (as I don't drink) and I'd keep their ID's and money and make sure they didn't get killed or lost. I bought a lot of books with that money. :D
