My new job that's not my new job any longer.
Okay. So, I started my new job and then Thursday I was told that I'd gotten the other job that I had been interviewed for in the first place. Therefore my new job which isn't my new job any longer is now my friend's new job and my new job starts Monday. Are you as confused as me yet?
I was going to be answering phones and taking orders for birth, death, marriage, and deivorce records. Now I'll be dealing with incoming mail that is asking for the same things. The job I was training to do needs filled badly, so when they told me I got the other job I dropped my friend's name, and then I couldn't find her contact number. Ugh. I knew I had brought it with me to work, I was sure I had. Couldn't find it. I ended up calling someone we both know and asking her to IM my friend to get what I needed.
This morning my friend and the two little pre-school girls with her were interviewed for the job. I had fun getting the little one who's name I know to look at me while my friend signed in at the front desk. At lunch my used to be assistant boss (he was going to be training me) told someone I'll start working with Monday about the little girls and how cute they were. Then he told me that my friend had been told to take what time she's needs to make arrangments for the kids and then she'll start. Yippee!
My new, new job is a State of Kansas job which means once I'm past my six month probabation I'll be pretty much good to go until I'm dead. My friend's job isn't State, but it gets her a much better chance at one (oh, and wouldn't it be funny if she got the job that is opening up-front and she got a friend of her's the job she's getting).
Now the office will have someone new to bother and maybe I'll be able to write on my lunch. Although I have managed to get the next parts of PicPuz and Bindings off to beta. I'm slower, but not completely stopped at least. Oh, and while I'm thinking of it: If anyone cares to beta parts of Binding Forces that I do not wish to inflict on my beta due to squicks please email me. :D While I have no doubt she'd do them justice I don't want to make her deal with anything that bothers her and I don't want to swamp my other beta (two fics at once is my upper limit per beta cause really, I'm a mass of mistakes).
