Memories...
Today we were sitting in Woody's and Mike announced he was bored and was going to go for a drive. Tagged along and ended up in Herne bay. Used to go there when we stayed in the caravan with Nan and Grandad.
I pointed out the ruins of the monastary at Reculver, where the caravan site was. So we drove over there and for the first time since i was somewhere between 5 and 7 years old i returned to Reculver. Saw the little shop/arcade, the caravans, the pub... It all seems so far away. So long ago. As soon as i realised how close we were to Reculver i knew i had to go back there. And i am glad i did. Such a sleepy corner of the world and yet such an important time in my life...
