There had to be more important things in life than homework - but at this very moment, Saint couldn't think of one.
"Aren't you tired?" Guillaume asked, voice hushed. He was the only one who would talk to her; he was the only brother Saint would talk to. She smiled at him, because he had never done a thing to make her angry.
"Not really." All she was doing was German, anyway. She didn't mind German. For some reason it felt important.
He sat next to her at her desk and did her Arabic homework for her. He had gotten awfully good at it, ever since he'd met Lawrence. "I'm leaving in a week," Guillaume said eventually. "Dad says I won't see you again for a while."
"Make sure you write." At eight years old, Saint had only ever received one letter.
He smiled. "I will. Every day."
She scowled and scribbled out an incorrect article. "That's rather unneccessary. You won't have time."
"I'll always have time for my little sister."
No one else does, she thought, rather uncharitably. "But Prince Lawrence will be more important." Guillaume looked sad. "It's okay. I don't mind."
He sighed, stood. "Alright. It's time for bed."

saint, guillaume and lawrence are mine, all mine.
