I'm baaaack...

... at school, that is. I'm finally moved in to my apartment, my roommates are here, my job is going well, and classes start next week! I'm pretty excited about all these turns of events. Maybe I'll finally get the chance to sleep... eat... write a little... :)

For the past few weeks I've been squatting with various and sundry friends, including the wonderful painfullystoic (thanks again for everything, btw! <3) and some other folks from the university. Yesterday I was finally able to get my keys to the apartment. Today I got the last of my bags out of storage and finished unpacking, which took embarrassingly little time -- I was completely finished with my bedroom before my roommates had even finished moving their furniture around. Guess that's what happens when you live out of state and have been gone for a year. I like my little room! It's cozy, with good natural light and just the right amount of space. The bed's pretty comfy. It's the first time I've ever had a double bed! And I adore my desk -- it's huge, solid wood, and has lots of room for my feet beneath it. I scavenged a practically-brand-new set of plastic drawers to serve as my nightstand/desk drawers, and a tackboard/whiteboard that is falling apart but seems to be stable now that I've nailed it to the wall. I have to finish putting up my decorations on the walls (and by decorations I mean random ass bits of paper and postcards), and I need to slipcover my desk chair, but otherwise it feels like home.

I look forward to sleeping in my very own bed tonight! I haven't slept much these past few days, what with being on a different bed/sofa/floor every night and then helping everyone move in. So I think I'll enjoy having a little bit of a grasse matinée tomorrow.

Unfortunately, writing has been on a bit of a hiatus while I try to get resettled and get into the habit of going to work/school again. But I think it will be better once I'm back on a schedule! I can either do many things well, or few things poorly... I'm looking forward to doing many things well again! Next week I'm hoping to finish up chapter 2 of Transatlanticism, which will allow me to release chapters 3 and 4 as well. I'd also like to finish "Once Upon A Time" and "The Plot", two K/A fics which each have a bit of a twist. And, if I'm lucky, I'll get around to writing that Due South/Star Trek crossover I promised my roommate for her birthday. ;)

See ya!
