You would think Fraser would have learned by now. It wasn't the first winter he'd spent in Chicago; and anyway, it was winter most of the year where he came from. (At least, that's how Ray understood it.)
So they'd been having a snowball fight. Or, more accurately, Ray and Dewey had been having a snowball war, Huey had been trying to keep anyone from throwing chunks of ice, and Fraser had been walking a few feet ahead, tromping through snowbanks and actually doing some investigating, like he was supposed to. One of Ray's snowballs went a little wide of its mark.
"DUCK!" Ray yelled.
Fraser didn't even look up. "Actually, Ray, I believe that is a goose, possibly a gosling of the Branta canadensi - ACK!"
The snowball fight met with an untimely end, as Huey and Dewey began to back away from the scene of impending doom. Fraser turned around slowly. Ray gulped.
"You know," Fraser said conversationally. "I was voted Snowball King in eighth grade. I admit it's been a while, so my skills may be rusty. However, I advise you to start running. Now."
Ray took this advice to heart. He didn't have time to duck.
