imagine if you can a computer program that, using music videos, can transfer the cyber-acoustic sound signatures of videos into a searchable database of quarter, 8th, 16th and i imagine 32nd notes [wow!?].
then another piece of music or a live input through microphone is broken down into its sound signatures. those sound signatures are used as search items to find video snippets with similar sound signatures in the pre-existing video/signature database.
then, using those similar pieces compiled from search results, reconstructing a version of the live input or piece of music using these snippets...
ALL IN REAL TIME!!
there is such a program, scrambledhackz. i found it today searching for hacks and bends for circuitbending. absolutely brilliant. More reason for me to build a linux box this summer.
