Wow, that made no sense in retrospect. We checked in via a phone and the boarding numbers B17 and B51 were not sequential so they wouldn't let us board together. That is their new policy to make every one get on by number. Why not just assign seats or fix their app to make the numbers happen correctly? It was a long day and we were super grumpy by that point. ;)
