Whee!
Whoooo! So from what originally looked like a horrible situation has sprung a miracle of epic proportions! I have decided that while I like the family that I live with now, its going to be a huge blessing to get away from them. I won't have to deal with the family fighting every night at dinner, being ignored by the oldest brother, or the awkward attempts of the father to try and control what I do haha. The new family I'm going to be living with is a mom and her 22 year old son who works all day in a factory. Supposedly this year he's trying to make money, and currently the mom isn't working. I've already met the mom, she's really nice and I'm going to get a room and my own bathroom! Seriously, in Spain you know the quality of your life by how many people you have to share the bathroom with XP.
Something cool also happened a few days ago! It was Tuesday and our teacher said, "I have good news. This Thursday there will be no class because I will be on vacation. But, the bad news is we need to reschedule class." So on that same day at 2 pm we had the class again. Despite the fact that it was the second time I had gone to it in one day, it was absolutely amazing. We watched a video about the processions in Spain during the Semana Santa, and then what the teacher wanted us to do was go out into the street and interview native speakers about what their favorite festival was, what they do during that time, etc. Literally during this exercise something clicked, and my spanish got drastically better. Something aligned in my head and everything just sort of came together, so now its soooo much easier to conjugate verbs and get articles and genders to agree. I'm really excited about this because this was the main thing that made me feel homesick, I had trouble bringing all the pieces of the language together at once in conversation. Now however speaking spanish is the awesome!
So I feel a lot better about everything here. I'm still missing home, but things have done a pretty drastic 180, look out semester here I come XD! I just have to get over a cold that's snuck up on me >
