Gosh, what a drawing, Whiteling, although I suppose you'll credit your Depp muse as inspiration. You make me want to find and see this film.

Well, of course I credit my Depp muse for it, but also the 12+ hours I spent concentrated on the drawing. ;-)
The film is quite something to stomach. When I saw it for the first time, I felt depressed for the rest of the day, it was so, so intense and it was as if my heart had been ripped out. Not only Johnny, but everyone in this film is just fantastic. And it displays such a believable Restoration atmosphere. I think you would like the film.

I think I would definitely find it worth watching, from your description. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it at all, but I really do live in a cocoon in many ways.

Okay, I do live in my cocoon too, but in this case it might have more to do with the fact (if I recall correctly) that "The Libertine" possibly hasn't been released at all in the states... I'm not quite sure, though. It had a release in the UK and some other european countries, but not in Germany, for instance. Only last autumn was a dubbed DVD release available eventually.
So probably that's why you never heard of it!

Thank you, Maeglian!

I can fully understand your decision. My hubby watched the film with me, and wished afterwards he hadn't, because he was devastated to see a life and such a talent wasted. Yes, JD was fantastic in that role. And somewhere in the specials of the DVD he says how extremely difficult (emotionally) it had been to play Rochester. It must have been really haunting.

What? No silver nose prosthetic? ;-)

That is, as is usual for you Whiteling, a really stunning drawing.

Ahem, I found the silver nose prosthetic look not too becoming to Mr. Depp, so I decided for the I still have my nose look instead. ;-)

Thanks so much, Honey! *hugs*

Was machst Du denn für Sachen?
