Wrote this Blood+ fanfic. (posted it in the
blood_plus community a few days back). That's all I can really write...sadly. I feel like I lack creativity or something .___. I think I liked my first one better (if I had to choose one).

Author's Notes: I wrote this after episode 22. It kind of references what happens in 22, and even though it won't really spoil much I think you'd lose a sense of what I was trying to get if you haven't seen it. Well enjoy, read, comment, review. Thanks.
Why?
A strong, delicate voice echoed in the hallways of the manor.
Left.
Pause.
Right.
Pause.
Her eyes wavered, unable to focus ahead of her on the small glowing spot in the darkened halls. Fading in and out. Her breathing halted. Her lips parted open. A stifling air was inhaled, as her brows furrowed. Out of anger? Out of uncertainty? She didn't know the answer herself. "I...I should." Her hesitation frayed her nerves. "I don't..." A final resort to words with nothing left to say, "...understand." The skirt of her dress fluttered, as she turned.
"Do you regret it that much?" His footsteps resonated in her ears, lingering, as they approached her and became closer. Leaving less room to breathe. Closing the distance between them. A soft candle light briefly highlighted her face. Her long onyx hair shadowed her face and concealed the solemn expression that graced her lips. "Would you have hated it if I had done the same?" As his last words came out, she felt compelled to move closer and hold onto the warmth that was directly behind her.
Nothing needed to be said, as she made her response by walking towards the door of her room. As she turned the doorknob, the resounding click released a silent flow of tears. One by one they fell making a soft clink sound as one, two, many fell upon the doorknob her hands were enclosed around.
"Should I hate the life you gave me?" Haji asked, but Saya only further retreated opening the door of her room. A sign that she had nowhere to go. "Saya..." His voice was urgent, one that pleaded her to give him some answer. A faint whisper escaped her lips, as they moved a single motion.
"...no."
The tone of her voice held every intention to push him away, but he pressed on. His eyes still asked unspoken questions.
"I..." Saya felt pushed in that corner. She turned to face him, one last uncertainty falling from her mind. "I need...rest."
'I need time' was what she really wanted, as she nodded and closed her door behind her. Below the door she could see the light remain for a moment then soon grew brighter with the shuffling of feet.
"Saya. I promised never to leave your side." Haji softly spoke, as Saya leaned her back against the wall, only to find herself sliding to sit on the floor. Strangely, that warmth that stood behind her never dissipated. It grew stronger, as if he were sitting right behind her. "Now, I can and intend to fulfill that promise..." His words lingered in the still night air, evoking a deep feeling within her.
"...fulfill that promise..." Saya whispered in a questioning tone as she felt a smile curl at the ends of her lips. Under the wide passage beneath the door, she allowed her fingers to cross the border between the two spaces. "...forever." Almost instantaneously without hesitation, a warm set of fingers met her own as if to silently shatter her qualms.
A silent yes.
Unspoken.
