Anime Expo 2008 Breakdown~
AX = amazing excellent-ness in some aspects more than others. ;3
Thursday:
Busiest day eva~ Woke up early, but was still working on Pop Shock stuff in the morning. :x I tried, but I think I did well for like working on it for like 2 weeks after finals were over. xD;; And I'm in love with Hiroto's skirt thing in Gradation PV now ♥ It turned out awesome in real life. :D I wanna see pics. Met, well half-met, new person, Lauren~ We went Fashion District shopping together, and I was shopping for Pop Shock fabric at that time, so that was just......funny. xD; Made it over to con, did pre-lims for karaoke contest (which started an hour late), made it in time for signups (which turned out I was early compared to everyone else? cause they were still doing signups until 3 for a contest that was supposed to start at 2. :P). Someone told me I sang well (even though I was downright nervous), which made me smile. :D Then ran over to Ralphs for food times, and returned to my car to pick up clothes for dress up times for Pop Shock. Which was fun. 1 hour pre-masq. meeting for 10 minute Pop Shock Masq. But it was awesome hanging out with Tiff + Lauren, and fangirling over Alice Nine. XD; Glad to have found people that love their outfits as much as I do, and the band (and/or their prettiness). Definitely wanna do more Alice Nine outfits....White Prayer = ♥♥♥ (been wanting to do that for a while). After that found out I made semi-finals for karaoke contest. xD That was exciting news. And then I made finals. xD: Even more excitement, but I was really tired around that time D: D: D: D: And I screwed up one of my favorite songs cause I blanked on lyrics and the flow of "Calling" from Baccano! D: D: D: I want another chance I can do it better now. But I placed 5th in karaoke contest finals, so I'm happy. 1st place was Kim/SakuraNek0. Although I had a feeling up against her I couldn't win not the way I am now, since it's only my first karaoke contest. xD; But it was awesome~ Already planning for next year's everything :O
Friday:
Another busy day. I woke up, and then ran to the mall to pick up some stuff for possible Yamamoto cosplay that didn't happen. But I was happy cause now I have a new white business shirt, and a red shirt for playtimes from H&M. xD; Came back dressed in R2 Villetta, and ran out the door. Drove to the con in Villetta dress (no shoes yet) + wig with a cap over my head. xD: Just a little embarassing walking out to the front of my house. Luckily no one noticed. xD; Ended up seeing/meeting unlock + ycysusan + evanae in the parking lot, and then ran about with our Gino until we arrived at the gathering/photoshoot. ♥ And it was hot. And my feet hurt with those boots , so I was walking around with a big bag with my shoes. That was kind of tedious. Post-alley/Japan/"Elevens town" photoshoot. Went back for boba smoothie, which was okay~ It worked cause it was hot, and that was cool. Wandered a bit more, and then ran off to change into Mr.Frowny-face/Jihad-kun/Ritsuka without ears/Setsuna. xD; I so need to take
evanae's advice (I think she suggested it) and wear cat ears with that. xD; I want my own mini-Exia too D: Ore-tachi wa gundam da~
After changing met up with
ichijopan +
nitaspitas, and then took a few photos and went to Masamitsu Hidaka. Gah had to look on AX site for that name. Didn't know much about him or who he was. Saw a preview of the new series he was working on....started with an L...Linebarrel (checked the site for that too). Wish I had gone to the breakfast thing for Meet the Guests, cause I heard it was awesome. Saw Jack there, and Aniket, and other people. D: Of course we took pics with Hidaka-san in our Gundam 00 cosplay, which was funny. xD; Later went to his autograph session afterwards, and he was like "Should I put To: Setsuna". I was like "Iie. No...Colleen is fine. But actually either works xD; " Apparently he did that for me, Sumeragi (
ichijopan), and Feldt (
nitaspitas). Love the guy, he's great. xD; I will look forward to your new series Hidaka-san!
After they left, then I changed to Lambo for Reborn gathering, and then gave up with that and went for moar food, cause the small bit of K BBQ was not enough for me + yochan. ♥ The gathering was too big, way too difficult to control pics that we wanna take. D: Wanted to do black jumpsuits with
_rakugosha_but ran out of time with Pop Shock cosplay. There's next con, and at least that will be better to wear then. xD Was honestly dreading wearing black in high-80 weather. ><;
Came back hung around with JenPan +
uzumakiramen +
neoredxiii, then saw and talked with
tenshiyaki +
eeveil for a bit after I ran into them in the hallway, and then with Jenny + Jess too xD; Not too long after retired home after failed attempt at karaoke. :P
Saturday:
Non-con day = Dad's birthday. Got my hair done at hair dresser, cause it was a mess. D: In the end we didn't do much of anything though ;p which sucked, but I was so drained, I just took the day off anyway. Even though I would have loved to go to LM.C concert. I almost did, but was too lazy to go find parking and pay at door fee for ticket. Cause I'm cheap + lazy + like to watch my asian dramas I mean, sleep. Finished watching They Kiss Again/It Started with a Kiss 2, and started this other Korean drama (Who Are You). Saturday was Lameday.
Sunday:
On the other hand was awesomeday. Lame humor. Finished watching last episode of Zettai Kareshi, and then headed over to grocery for errand, and went to con center. Didn't cosplay for con, but walked out of the parking lot, and *bam* COLLEEN! *EH?* I turn around and see
fattastik ♥ in all her Eruka Frog sexiness. The hat was amazing. :O And then heard Cindy call me, took me a while to register the cosplay --> face + name. xD: And hung around dealer's hall, saw
hybrid_twist, and saw Gurren Lagaan sexiness parading on stage (
unlock,
nerdcore,
tenshiyaki,
eeveil + others) . Reminding me I need to finish the 2nd half of that series. xD; And then saw
silver_ruby, and walked up and down the shopping aisles looking at merch. Caught up with
shadow_wolfwind to return much needed iPod (which ended up lost not too long after D: hope you get it back), and then Jenny + Jess who were in YYH cosplay. :O I wanted pics, and forgot. xD; Transferred to
yoshikochan + Craig group, and showed her Gold Saint figurines. DO WANT. D: D: They had Shiryu, Shun, Camus, Milo, a bunch of them. Gold, Silver, Saint shininess in that booth everywhere. D: And I was just crying a river, cause yeah...not paid yet -____-. I will get it though for refs, cause they have each armor piece in that set. D: So useful for Shiryu armor, or Camus armor (still debating if I wanna try doing Shura or not instead...). Headed to Artist's Alley after reaching the end, and then was poor after buying 2 Shoxx magazines and 1 Arena 37 cause they had Alice Nine's "White Prayer" sexiness in it, and Tohoshinki's "Summer Dream" sexiness, and Alice Nine's "cosmic world" gold pants of love on the cover. Couldn't resist. Bought 2 in cash, and 1 on card. xD; Oh yeah, paid for y-con registration too, so need to start looking at flight prices. >< Or think about hitching a ride with
evanae if she's driving up there. xD; And sort out room stuff. Need moar details from
evanae re: room. xD; Forgot to ask even though I saw her like 10 times. xD; Went to iHop, returned to car, and left for home (Shabu Shabu D: D: D: if only I had known I would have waited for that at 6. At times like these I want a second stomach D: )
Thursday in a nutshell:
Pros:
-- Fast registration :O Came in at 1 PM for my badge, came out in like 4 minutes. xD Yay for new technology (upgrade from 5 years ago. xD)
-- 5th place in Karaoke Finals Contest :D
-- Received Group Craftsmanship Award for Pop Shock :O Amazingness you guys~ Your outfits were awesome. Had fun doing it, let's do it again >D Not enough Alice Nine love out there.
-- Hanging out with awesome people, much love to you all ♥♥
Cons:
-- Working on Pop Shock outfit Thurs. morning made me miss PoT gathering D: Blame UCLA for ending school so late (love them for starting late too xD; no papers/midterms to worry about around y-con)
-- Screwed up on Baccano! ED Theme for karaoke finals D:
-- AMVs at the same time as Karaoke Finals D: D: D: So no yoshikochan support, but JenPan + Jenny + Jess came out to cheer me on. Arigatou~ xD;
