I Met Amanda Tapping!!
Yesterday I got to meet one of my all time favorite actresses...Amanda Tapping! She is awesome, and funny and so totally down to earth!
Her and Robin Dunn plus Chuck Campbell and Carmen Argenziano where here in Sydney for the Gateway To The Sanctuary Convention held at the Sebel Hotel in Parramatta!
Our seats where G19 and G20 which was right on the entry door for the guests, needless to say I got some awesome shots of Robin, Chuck and of course Amanda. I was one of the lucky few that got to ask Amanda a question. I asked her about breach and how much the guy playing Adam was pulling his punches and what scenes was her stunt double used? The answers... No Adam was not pulling his punches and the only scenes her stunt double Ashley did during the episode was the swinging of the metal pole above her head and the being chucked into a wall.
Amanda considers herself a clutz :P and jet lag doesn't help, some of the questions asked floored her and she gave a nod to Helen's apparent bisexuality. If you watch the beginning of the old seasons you see her standing in a picture with Amelia Earhart..that's a nod to the bisexuals and lesbians out there.
I got the impression she doesn't like the new start to the season. She cleared up some things in regards to Ashley, they will not bring her back unless they can organically do it, they tried to get her for S3 but she was very busy on her other projects.
They also had an auction, I didn;t get anything, way out of my own price range but there was some cool stuff there (see pictures below) even Ronan Dex's gun!
I got a professional photo taken with her (got to touch her!!! ( and NO I am not posting my mug on here :P)), a personalized autograph with Amanda and Robin plus picked up 5 photos from her Stargate SG-1/Stargate Atlantis days and 2 badges one SGA and one official SG... Did I already mention she is awesome?
Both her and Robin are completely nuts though, Robin played off himself, had an argument with himself and did all sorts of accents (mainly Sean Connery) we got told about why he lost the glasses within the first season and why Magnus only wears her glasses in her study.
Robins favorite Ep is Parvor Nocturnes. Amanda had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast :P and tea, all three (Robin, Chuck, Amanda) had tea, no coffee! She was wearing a green cardigan and a black dress with two necklaces, Robin was in jean's, shirt and denim jacked with a baseball cap.
I had an absolute blast, great seat, nice atmosphere, totally AWESOME!
