Secret Knowledge Part Three
Callie was sitting on the floor gently rocking, holding a picture of herself and Erica, A picture that had been taken on their first date. Christina had found it months later being used as a bookmark for Callie’s favorite book, they looked so happy being together, drinking wine and just talking, it was a candid shot, one that had turned up in the mail a few days later, much to Callie’s delight and Erica’s chagrin until she realised that the negatives where also in the envelope.
As Christina walked closer she could see the fresh tearstains on Callie’s cheeks. Not knowing what to do she awkwardly sat on the edge of the sofa behind Callie and patted her gingerly on the shoulder. At the touch Callie came out of her rocking daze and stared at Christina for a long moment. The red rimmed and bloodshot eyes testament as to how long Callie had once again been crying over the woman she had let go. Christina hated Callie like this, she actually missed the bubbly, somewhat over the top orthopedic surgeon that she moved in with, not that she would admit that to anyone, not even Meredith.
