D&D 4th Edition Campaign!

Nov 19, 2009 00:49

So, I'd like to start figuring out a bi-monthly date (though I'm more than open to more often) for running a D&D 4th Edition Campaign. I am familiar with the rules, and I have resources which allow me to Dungeon Master (DM) a game with little or no bits and pieces needed of the major books. I may have to put in a bit of money and pick up a Monster Manual (or Monster Manual 2), but we'll see what we need.

So, on this point: When are people avaliable? I know that during the weekdays, people are in school or working, but as for weekends...
I'm currently getting a lot of Saturdays off, recently. I think Saturday would be the best for this.

As for D&D itself, I know that not EVERYONE is totally interested in playing as a Player Character (PC). If this is the case, I am more than willing to allow someone to Co-Dungeon Master with me, or play NPC (that's Non-Player Character) roles. If you are such a person, please tell me beforehand, and I'll do my best to come up with a role for you to play, so you can feel involved without having to actually get into the serious "player" role.

As for the actual players themselves, we need, at minimum, 4 people willing to play as characters in the campaign.
Currently, I'm assuming that Terra, Lynn, Brandon, and Ross would all be at least a bit interested in doing this.

The game itself is a level 1 pre-fabricated campaign, Keep on the Shadowfell. What this means is that everyone needs to create (hopefully beforehand) a level 1 character, or at least have a character concept.

For those of you not familiar with D&D, I can offer a few suggestions if you ask, but I encourage everyone to use their imagination. 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons is a robust system, and if you can think up something, I can probably translate it into a playable character in D&D.

All I ask is that, when you think up characters, please try not to create a character that would be "overpowered". "I'm a half-god vampire/werewolf crossbreed, so I'm mostly immortal and immune to most things, undead, and can change into a wolf." That's awesome, but also honestly overpowered. You can be a vampire. You can be a werewolf. But please don't push the envelope.

If you have any questions/comments about any of the above, don't hesitate to comment here or ask me over the phone.
