I can't even tell you how much I love this story. The tone, characterization - are just perfect - quite-perfect.

I like your explanation of why she wasn't at the funeral -it rang true. I love that she went to Gibbs because she knew he would be the one most likely to follow Jenny and Franks into a hero's grave.

This was my favortie line; it pierced my heart: I have never been to a funeral where someone died naturally.” Ziva said softly. “Never. One day I would like to.”

I'm so glad you like it. Its not the type of thing that I usually write - Gibbs voice is hard (mostlly because he's action and not words). But it was just begging to be written. This is what made my plot bunny cry the other day.

This was beautifuuly thought out and you wrote both Ziva and Gibbs very well. This is my favorite fic about why she wasn't there. Why can't TPTB come up with this kind of emotion? Well done!
