Some things that I miss
My record player. I can't listen to the Beatles, Clash, Stones, Elvis Costello, Zeppelin, so many more, too many to count.

Using measuring spoons. Seriously, I swear they don't use them here. They have a million kitchen implements, including 8 kinds of whisks, 4 strainers, two egg cups, three kinds of chopsticks, but no measuring spoons. How do you cook here?? I still managed to make an experimental German/Indian dish involving beets.
