Pirate Festival 2014
I finally made it to a Pirate Festival. I usually forget. It is made by the same people who made the Utah Ren Faire possible.
There was a swimming pool for people to try mermaid fins on. Two people recognized my cosplay immediately. "Tetra?" I told them I was so happy they noticed it. I had lost my voice from playing and yelling at lagoon the day before.
Skyler, the one from the Bel Sword group was there. I asked if he was there at Jett's funeral. He said yes he had been there. He is usually at things like these.
At the Emerald Dragon booth I looked at chainmail. I asked about Andrew Forbes. He made most of the jewelry there from chainmail. A guy poppped out and asked if I was Tetra. I said I was. He cam around and said I must give you a cosplay hug. It was great. He later put on a chainmail bikini which was very funny to see.
I spoke with a girl at a henna booth, we both love henna so much as well as mendhi.
I talked to a man who did leather work with a geek flair. Wallets, books, and keychains of leather were covered in comic characters or geek culture like pokemon, tardises, poison ivy, wolverine, etc. He wants to make it his work now. Another pirate girl stepped up and we had a conversation on fandom. She also recognized me and said it was exciting.
I had a great time.
