(no subject)
The italians couple skated to The Prince of Egypt. It was cool. They moved into first place with it but I'm pretty sure the Americans are going to kick butt.
School is blah. Church is good, but different...very different. I get to go to Teen Talent. I haven't been in like 6 years, so it should be fun.
I've got to tell about two weekends ago, because it was AWESOME, I just haven't had time to type it all up yet, so here goes...
My Nona called me like 3 weeks ago and told me there was a "contemporary Christian concert coming up and they need some people to serve" She asked me if me and Patrick could come help. I said sure b/c I was running late that day and needed to get off the phone. Well the only concert I knew of that was coming up was Winter Jams. So I got online and looked it up. TobyMac, Krystal Meyers, ZoeGirl, Newsboys, NewSong and Hawk Nelson.
Well, I talked to Patrick about it, and we decided we would go since I had already told my Nona yes but we really weren't looking forward to having to work the concessions stands or selling t-shirts at a concert (that's what we assumed we would be doing) b/c we would probably just end up missing half the concert anyway.
Well, the concert was on a Friday night, and patrick and I both had to work. I got off at 5 and Patrick got off work later. It was raining that day. My Nona calls and says we need to be there at 5 and as I have already established we were late. We ended up getting to the BJCC at 7:15. (We did get a GREAT parking space though right under the overpass).
So I call my Nona to tell her we were there, and she tells me that we need to come in at the service entrance. So we ran through the rain and made it to the door to meet this lady that my Nona knows, and she leads us down a hallway to where we were going to be working. On the way down the hall I recognized a girl standing in a group. Guess who it was...One of the singers from ZoeGirl. A few steps later, Toby Mac walks past us...YES WE WERE BACKSTAGE!!! (Me and Patrick both recognized Toby Mac b/c of his eyes which are Extremely blue.) So we walk into a room and they tell us we are going to be stacking and counting the money that came in at the door and from the love offering. So we did that, but we told my Nona that we wanted to see Toby Mac, and the workers told us we could just leave when he came onstage. So at 8:45 we left the backstage room and walked to the stage entrance backstage. We watched and listened to Toby Mac warming up his voice before he went to perform and we followed Toby Mac and his back up singers/dancers to the stage and watched them run up on stage and perform. Then we watched Newsboys from the same place, and they are alot better than I always thought before. So after the concert, we went to find my Nona and Pops and found out that the main people needed someone to take the group's subway sandwiches to them. Guess who Volunteered?!? That's right, me and Patrick and Nona. I went on ZoeGirl's and TOby Mac's TOUR BUSES!! Toby Mac has a flat screen tv on the wall, and his girl singer and tall lanky guitar player were watching Kirk Franklin on it.
Patrick got to go on Newsongs' bus, and he said when he walked on it, onw of the guys was sitting in his boxers. and when Patrick apologized, the dude said, "Oh don't worry we're just chillin" or something like that. LOL
So that was our night, it was pretty cool and the lady who told my Nona about it says they need help all the time, and they'll call us whenever they need us. YAY!!! Alright that's it. I won't bore you with my excitement anymore.
