Vegas!
Oh sweet Vegas.. I probably did the worst overall this year. But I went with 4 (thinking I was gonna go crazy and blow it all), and I'm coming back home with 3.. because losing money blows... So I was much more aware of what I was doing after the first day... I to Vegas Saturday night... I was put in a Suite on the top floor.. (High roller baby).. I was first put in the Executive Suite which apparently is the only room in the whole hotel that doesn't have a shower... So I went back down, and they gave me another Suite.. down the hall... It was a smoking room... but I couldn't smell it.. and trust me.. i was staying there for 4 nights.. I sniffed the bed.. the curtains.. and everything else.. because I don't enjoy having to deal with that smell on a continual basis.... Everything was acceptable so I kept it... I gambled a ton the first day.. and by the end of the day, I had broken even.. (er.. broke even?) But it was reverse.. I was down.. then I recovered.. on 3 machines.. After I got the tickets cashed for the 3.. then it all went downhill... big time..... BIG TIME! It would have been more enjoyable to light my money on fire and dance around it doing an indian dance... Every machine I picked.. every table I sat at.. I was ice cold.. Every hand I got seemed to be a 12 - 15, and every card showing for the dealer was an Ace or 10.. so I either busted or got a couple of small cards, and then was overshot anyway.. It wasn't pretty.
In the middle of all that losing.. I did play in the slot tournament.. that was interesting... basically for 10 minutes at a time.. you just hope you get lucky... hitting the spin button as fast as you can... I ended up being 19th out of maybe 300 people? Which meant nothing.. cause the only people who got money were the top 5.. Ironically.. The person who won $15,000 was NOT at the awards banquet..
I did however win $40 for getting 2 Triple Sahara's in the final round.. So that was pretty cool...
I'm taking advantage of FREE Wifi at McCarren Int'l Airport in Las Vegas.. but it's time to put everything away to get on the plane... So I'll finish this later...
