[By the time Raiden came back, a lot had happened, including Blacky's death. After trying to find out where he was, searching for New York but finding no sight of him anywhere, Lash had resigned to sending out a pulse in Raiden's codec every 10 minutes or so, and have the machine directly linked to her own phone to ring if there ever was an answer back.

So far, it was still dreadfully silent. School was starting against tomorrow, so she was in her room, drawing up plans for her class.]
