The Apartment [Cambridge]

After a day filled with so many cakes that John nearly had a cake stroke, everyone's back in the apartment for a quieter day.

Or, a quiet day for them. There's an assortment of board games spread out and now it's just decision time.

"Twister? RISK? Monopoly? CLUE? Charades"? John asked the group at large.

"I bet Anakin could kick ass at Charades," John said, raising an eyebrow.

"I bet I could too," Anakin replied.

Pause.

"What's charades?"

"It's when you act out things and other people have to guess what it is," Rory explained helpfully. "...and, um, if you play in teams, the other team has to tell you what to act out as and your teammate has to guess. And...um, there's a bonus point thing where if you act out the charade really well and in the most detailed and creative way you can and also manage to incorporate poultry, you get extra points."

"We could pick teams!" John suggested.

"Rory," Anakin said immediately.

"Aww. I got picked first. That never happed in Phys Ed!" Rory said excitedly.

"Well, who's left for me?" John asked, looking around. "Bertram! Come play!"

Aeryn threw a pillow at him. "You could always ask one of the fish."

"Maybe I wanted Bertram," she teased.

"Fine, you get Bertram and I'll join Rory and Anakin's team," John said. "We'll make a pretty team."

"Do I want to be pretty?" Anakin asked.

"We could be the pink team!"

"Yes," said Aeryn, looking at John. "You can be the pink team!"
