It's a brisk, sunny day in North Carolina today. A perfect Sunday. The morning brings slowly awakening people, hot coffee and plans for the day ahead.

Aeryn's more curious about comparing this one to the kinds Fandom has than anything. Because after all, Fandom doesn't seem to do things in the normal way. She does up her coat, wondering if it's okay that it's the leather one and relaxing a little when she sees others wearing them, too.

"What do they have?" she asks, not knowing if coffee is normal carnival fare.

"Soda, I think," he says. "Cotton candy. Popcorn. Hot dogs."

"I've had popcorn," she says. Cotton candy just confuses her.

"Sure," he says and doesn't let go of her hand while he orders a medium popcorn from the vendor dude.

"It's bigger than the ones in Fandom," she notices, lookin around while he's ordering. "But smaller than the Disbee place."

"No dunk tanks here," John says, thanking the vendor and offering her some popcorn. "And Disneyland's not really a carnival. It's an amusement park."

"What's the difference?" she asks, taking a handful of popcorn.

"Amusement parks are bigger and permanent," he tells her. "Carnivals are smaller and they usually leave after a few weeks here."

"Yep," he says, smiling. "They're fun."

It's then that he spots the 'test your strength' game and tugs her over.

Aeryn follows due to tugging, taking the game in. "I've seen this one before," she says, happy to recognize it.
